Lenny Chaps

Audrey

I made these chaps in my sophomore year of high school in Paris. This piece was one of the first pieces I ever made that wasn't jeans or a jacket. I had my friend model them and the experience is what made me really get into fashion. I wanted to create a new silhouette inspired by chaps and the Rick Owens pusher pants. Chaps are a really fun piece of clothing because they are something you can wear over jeans. I think of chaps more as an accessory than a piece of clothing because it needs to function with another piece of clothing. I wanted to make chaps independent from jeans with this look. I used snaps on the legs to make the chaps snap together and I had a double belt closure in order to make the chaps fit on someone's body. The material reminded me of skiwear which I adore. This project was my first leap into the fashion world and I never went back.
